Understanding the Last Days · Session 13 of 14
Resurrection, judgment, and restoration
Step 1
Read
John 5:24–29; Revelation 20–22
Use your preferred translation.
What does Scripture promise—and what questions should we resist answering beyond it?
Step 2
Observe
- What does the passage say? Restate it in your own words before interpreting it.
- Who is speaking, and to whom?
- What is the surrounding context — what comes just before and after?
- Which words or phrases repeat or stand out?
Step 3
Discuss
- What does Jesus say in John 5:24 about the person who hears and believes?
- List what is absent from the new creation in Revelation 21:4 and 22:3–5. What does each absence promise?
- What questions about eternity do you find yourself wanting answered that the text does not answer? How should we hold them?
Step 4
Apply
How might hope of restoration change how you care for the physical world and people around you now?
Step 5
Practice
Read Revelation 21:1–7 with someone who is suffering, or pray it for them if reading together is not possible.
Step 6
Pray
Thank God for His promise to make all things new, and ask for contentment with what He has revealed.
