Understanding the Last Days · Session 12 of 14
Christ’s return and victory
Step 1
Read
Matthew 24:29–31; Zechariah 14; Revelation 19–20
Use your preferred translation.
What makes Christ’s authority different from the powers He defeats?
Step 2
Observe
- What does the passage say? Restate it in your own words before interpreting it.
- Who is speaking, and to whom?
- What is the surrounding context — what comes just before and after?
- Which words or phrases repeat or stand out?
Step 3
Discuss
- How is Christ described in Revelation 19:11–16? Which titles and images stand out?
- Compare how the beast gains followers in Revelation 13 with how Christ is described as “Faithful and True.”
- Zechariah 14 ends with holiness written on ordinary cooking pots. What does that picture suggest about the coming kingdom?
Step 4
Apply
Where do you exercise authority — at home, work, or church — and how could it reflect Christ rather than coercion?
Step 5
Practice
Use whatever authority you have this week to serve someone under it in a specific way.
Step 6
Pray
Worship Christ as the faithful King, and ask Him to shape how you use any power you hold.
