Understanding the Last Days · Session 8 of 14
Israel in God’s purposes
Step 1
Read
Jeremiah 31:31–37; Romans 11:1–36; Zechariah 12:10–13:1
Use your preferred translation.
How should God’s promises to Israel shape Christian humility and hope?
Step 2
Observe
- What does the passage say? Restate it in your own words before interpreting it.
- Who is speaking, and to whom?
- What is the surrounding context — what comes just before and after?
- Which words or phrases repeat or stand out?
Step 3
Discuss
- In Jeremiah 31:35–37, what does God compare the permanence of His promise to?
- Paul warns Gentile believers against arrogance in Romans 11. What specific attitudes is he confronting?
- Zechariah describes mourning and cleansing. What does the passage suggest about how God brings people to Himself?
Step 4
Apply
How do you speak about Jewish people and Israel? Does your speech reflect Paul’s humility and love?
Step 5
Practice
Read Romans 11:33–36 aloud each day this week and let it shape your posture toward God’s purposes.
Step 6
Pray
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for Jewish neighbors by name, asking God to keep you humble before His mercy.
